@alowhum I see that one of the requirements for this new candle webthing gateway is "Sonoff Zigbee 3.0 USB stick". If I don't use any zigbee 'things', do I still need that for an install to work? I have mysensor things and native webthing things only. I lost remote access a month or so ago to my webthing controller (known issue but doesn't appear to be fixed) so I am thinking about switching to this 'new' candle controller. I use remote monitoring when I am away from the house to make sure the furnaces, etc. are working. Also, can I run my old webthing controller and this new candle webthing controller at the same time on my network while I get it going (probably a dumb question but I don't know)? I have another rasp pi I can install the new one on.

@rmalbers Im using webthings controller. It works well and has a good adapter to MySensors written by Candle. The controller is very stable. Im using adapters like mail and kafka as well as webthings adapter for a esp sensor. Seems to have adapters for everything as the framework is easy to code for. Graphing isnt great. I use an adpter to kafka to stream to Node Red. I really like the secure proxy service, so I can acess from anywhere and not have to do weird activities with my firewall. Data stays in my local network. I do have the similar concerns re lack of activity on the project. I'm hanging in there as i have invested so much time..

@Westie Testing using a docker image of the gateway... Update looking good - I have dropped the baud rate down to something more compatible with my clone nano. I found a useful tool to check the incoming serial from a Python point of view (not running the adapter when I do it) - python3 -m serial.tools.miniterm --parity N /dev/ttyUSB0 19200. This prints out the messages from the Serial Gateway in nice text when the speed is correct.

@trond-arntzen I just use a voltage divider with 1Megaohm and around 82K resistor for measuring my solar charged battery. @Mustang65 That ups board looks good. I could do with something similar as a battery backup for my raspberry pi's. Of course they would need a 12V to 5V conversion.

It's a mysensor esp8266 wifi gateway to a rasp pi3+ mozilla webthings gateway running the mysensor plugin (and weather).

@skywatchYup same software, just a boot to the raspbain desktop on each one, just idling at the desktop after boot from same sd card, one shows lightening bolt, other one fine. Same sd card, same power supply, same cable, just two different rasp pi 3b+ boards.

    Yes, that worked to user the V_DIMMER! Not sure if I can post a screenshot:![alt text](image url)[image: 1587073173610-screen_shot.png] (I guess I can!)

@Nca78 Thanks, that makes since. So far I have only played around with battery powered sensor but have never put one into constant use.

@skywatch said in GPIO Button toggle: @rpyne Do you want the GPIO to be on when you push the button and GPIO off when you release the button, or do you want it to be like, press, GPIO on, press, GPIO off, press, GPIO on etc.....??? I want it to toggle with each press, press, GPIO on, press, GPIO off, etc. I figured out how to do it with two separate rules for on and off, but it really should have a toggle function so that it only takes one rule. I also want the GPIO settings to allow setting the pull-up or pull-down built in to the newer Rpis so I don't have to use an external resistor to get stable inputs. I tried setting them with the boot overlay, but never could get the inputs to work if initialized through the overlay.

@alowhum Brilliant stuff! - It's great when hard work is recognised and I hope to get cracking with some of your ideas as soon as time allows. Well Done! :)

According to that link you already solved it, and it was caused by the external access option. Nice work.

I've submitted a new version of the add-on that supports this.

I saw the same pattern in the original example code at PyMySensors, so I'm assuming it's ok. I've uploaded version 0.1.2 of the MySensors add-on, Mozilla should accept it in a work day or two.

@rmalbers Currently it's focus is the Arduino Nano, but technically it also supports the other Atmel ones, like the Arduino Mega. There is a dropdown in settings where you can select which device you're using. Currently it's at version 0.0.6. It's getting quite robust.

I've updated the first post of the Gateway Addon thread to indicate that devices must be restarted to initially connect them.
