@tbully The interface of the MySensors library changed quite a bit in the 1.4 version. Lookup the same example as you started off with in the 1.3 version and start again from there.

@Yveaux Anyway, the nRF24 seems to be very sensitive to location/orientation then?! It's true that I just 'throw' it on the table an the orientation will be different eveyday. Is that the right conclusion? Really? See the antenna patterns @a-lurker found in an ap note for a similar meandering inverted F antenna: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/swra117d/swra117d.pdf (scroll down to the polar charts). There are 6 charts with two each (horiz and vertical polarization) for each of the three planes. Our nRF is probably different in detail but similar overall. So just rotating the nRF 20 degree along some axis might well significantly reduce or enhance its antenna gain. This is without any question of reflections or interference.

@Yveaux Only for the 3rd issue. I know why it fails, the sensor is not installed. But what I want, I am building my own Indigo plugin (in case you missed that part), is for the plugin to see that it goes wrong so that I can show that in the ui.

@therik I never really understood why the data was read this way in the pingpair sketch. Is keeps reading and overwriting data just read until there's nothing left to read. The pong sketch should just write 1 value for every value received, so there shouldn't be anything more to read anyway. Maybe on some boundary condition more data could come in, but I would prefer to read the value and flush the rest. Too bad flush Rx is not exported to public in current rf24 implementation...

@hek And that is why I will never be a programmer... I must have looked at that code 4 times! Anyway, thanks! I'll change it tonight when I get home. Do you think it would be worth updating the example here: http://www.mysensors.org/build/binary to add a child id? I'm wondering if there may be other people out there that may make the same mistake as me. Thanks again for all you do. I love this stuff!

@hek The capacitor addition seems to be helping. So far 9 hours and all the values are updating as they should YAY! I'll continue to monitor but i'm hopeful that this is the solution.

@jendrush mysql is only a small conf change (replace dbi:SQLite:dbname=mysensors.db by DBI:mysql:database=$database;host=$hostname;port=$port ;-)

ok now I have a verified case where both an OWL CM180i and the gateway/sensor ? stopped communicating at the same time (12am) and started again at 17pm... both ! There's been no home activity in the between, and I already observed that (what I mentionned above...) a week ago. What those have in common ? sensor and gateway are close together, as is the rfxcom, the CM180i (I have two) are two stairs below, but only one was not reporting... (last time it was both) I've seen in the RFM12/b there is a sniffer to see if there is a canal collision, here we are on different frequency ranges, why would so happen ?

Are you asking this question for the V_LIGHT var or all vars? I am using the serial GW with my plugin as well. I did not (yet) see any issues but I will not pick up where I left things before my vacation in another one or two weeks so I can not give you a more definite answer yet. ps the good news is that my re-order of boards arrived during my vacation so I have enough boards and radio's to start adding sensors :)
