Actually if you are subscribed to a mqtt topic there is no need to continually ask for data, the broker will send automatically new data to all the subscribed clients as soon as it is received.

@gohan It was on the nRF5 action! thread and for LoRa it was on the CNC thread.

@skywatch The naughty step is my second home... ;) I understand what you're getting at, played with radio and antennae most of my life although only into the uhf bands, as I found out to my surprise, many have on this forum... But the problem remains as @Nca78 pointed out the range for a given input power, dodging or penetrating obstacles in the modern domestic environment with composite structures and steelwork becomes progressively more problematic with higher frequencies, it is as you noted yourself rather pernickity. At my age, pulling my hair out is not an option ;) hence my choice of uhf for the system here, lower power input, longer battery life, keep what hair there is...

My recollection of MOV specifications is the are often rated for AC operation I.e. In the US we might use a 130Vac MOV. While others are rated for DC operation. For most folks it is probably wise to follow those ratings. If you are really into MOV.s then you look to the curves. I do not mean to imply that AC rated MOVs a different from DC rated MOVs, they are both physically the same parts, its just how the catalog presents the specifications.

@yveaux Thank you - I always thought of 'chat' as a live session (when both parties were online chatting) and PM as a private email type communication. That was confusing me!

@robert the NUMBER_OF_RELAYS is already defined in your sketch, just use as pasted. I use OpenHAB so i just tried to install Dormotiz and was supreised that it took less than a an hour to install and get working with the relays. (Most of that time was trying to get them to shown up on the dashboard) Dormotiz is communication fine with my node and i can switch on and off the relays from the Dashboard [image: 1539548700051-domoricz-rs485-3-resized.png] In the sort time i have checked i do see that the Last Seen time only changes when i change the state of the relay. So your program that you posted works for me with both my normal OpenHAB and the new test Domoticz. I think that i may be miss understanding your actual problem.

@bjacobse Yes, you are absolutely right, and that password only is required when you trig the device inside controller. I mean, if you click the icon in controller for that device and device is protected, it asks for password. And if you also use HTTP API, you need to provide password as well. So if you want to trig the device from other Mysensor node (my case), it does not know about the protection and you can directly send the message to trig the device on or off.

I use a reed switch on my gates - when they are in contact the gate is closed. You could put more at the open points for fully open but I only cared about closed or not. I assumed for 20 secs after they started opening they are opening else they are open. When I close the gate I assume closing until the reed switch shows closed - of course opening the gate during closing will reopen (I also have IR to detect car so gate will not close onto a car).

Another way to get multiple frequencies is to use network based gateways. Check out these projects: https://www.openhardware.io/view/457/Easy-Peasy-Amplified-MySensors-Serial-Gateway https://www.openhardware.io/view/394/Minimalist-LoRa-Ra-01-Shield-for-WeMos-D1-Mini https://www.openhardware.io/view/390/Minimalist-RFM69HCW-Shield-for-Wemos-D1-Mini I have serial gateways for NRF24 and RFM 69, but added a LoRa RA-01 Wemos-D1-Mini with no issues.

Getting closer.. I received a much better 'radar' sensor (the directional one). The only downside is that it has a bright green LED that turns on whenever it detects motion.

@skywatch @mfalkvidd Thank you for your comments. I am using Moteino R4 and RFM69 connected to hardware SPI pins. I tried the same pin with softSPI, but I could not get success. Now I have altered the ADE7763 Arduino library to update SPI settings on every call. And added code to update the only flag on ADE7763 interrupt(like we have in RFM69_new library). Seems all look somewhat ok. I think for RFM69 we use a default clock speed. for ADE7763: SPI_CLOCK_DIV4 Are you using pull up resistors on the CS lines to each device - that might be worth a try too.... Yes, I have

@mfalkvidd Thanks! That is almost the same as my readings. @scalz I have been working few years with ZigBee modules from TI (CC2530). I had dozens of different setups with integrated and also external antenna. RF values was not "just datasheet numbers", if there was written 20dBm output, it was there. But fully agree, that here is the problem mainly caused by non-optimized antenna... So there is a huge space to increase the range of modules... And one more update, whch I think can be very important for all others. My setup is running on OpenHab2 installed on OrangePi Zero with SerialGateway connected over UART. Just now I had realised, that OrangePi makes huge RF noise. If I will run setup normally, receiving sensitivity is very poor. Once I start setup without SD card inside of the system (OrangePi will not start up), Arduino gateway is receiving perfectly. I have just putted SerialGateway to the 50cm long cables, far from OrangePi and usable range is more than twice longer than before. Thans for your time guys. Appreciated.

@neverdie said in Recommendation for PCB fab?: Anyone try this? Sounds like a promising alternative: https://hackaday.com/2018/09/18/get-your-pcbs-made-at-the-mall/ Good idea but it's not really solving much, it's keeping the most annoying parts: using chemicals (can't do it in an appartment building), making the vias by hand.
