Arduino based Serial Gateway compatible with Atmega32U4 based Arduino Micro?

First question: Is the GatewaySerial.ino sketch in 2.0.0 the sketch that replaced the SerialGateway.ino sketch from 1.5.4?

Second question: If so, is the GatewaySerial.ino sketch compatible with the Atmega32U4 based Arduino Micro (similar to the Arduino Leonardo)? Link to the arduino is below if you are not familiar with it.
