Serial RPi Gateways

Hi,
I have a Moteino MightyHat (Basically an Arduino with the RFM69 built it.) I have it set up as a serial gateway which talks with Home Assistant which is also on the RPi.

Out in my garage I want to set up an RPi as a security camera. I was planning on setting up a regular arduino out there for MySensors stuff.

Can the RPi function as a Ethernet Gateway communicationg with the Arduino/s over RS485?
