TO ALL IN THIS TOPIC I though it was appropriate I acknowledge that I now realise I misunderstood there was anti-ESP sentiment here, its more a case of just too busy to jump onto every idea mentioned. Like a few others who spoke to me, I failed to make an official request, therefore until I did and was told err.. 'where to go', I should not have assumed anything. There was never any ill intention, just frustration as I probably love MySensors as much as anybody else here. Like everyone, I have real time restraints, but if I can conribute, I will. My thanks to everyone who has taken the time to comment. Paul

@AffordableTech MySensors = node --> gateway --> HA Controller If you want to use ESP8266 it is as easy as: ESP8266 node --> MQTT broker --> HA Controller The MQTT broker can run on a RPi (mosquitto for example) Regarding the ID assignment that will be DHCP if you want Just my 2c

@beersmith I can still recommend to use wemos d1 pro mini with espeasy and ToniA's plugin. if you remote isn't supported, then create a circuit to measure the raw ir I believe that the easiest and right approach, as you then can control all your heatpumps functions easy https://github.com/ToniA/arduino-heatpumpir raw ir decoder https://github.com/ToniA/Raw-IR-decoder-for-Arduino

@Luca-Calcaterra I am all for making a solution like this because it would give access to MySensors to complete non-programmers. The sketch generator seems like the best approach to me, but it still needs compiling in Arduino and transferring to node, acceptable step for an electrician I suppose, but probably not for my grandpa :)

On this moment i try to make it work with a rfm95 chip. But the distance with this chip is oke but not the best there is. So i want to use the ic880a for mysensors and not for the things network. So i have my one private network ps. the link you send is outdated, it don't work anymore with ttn :(

@sundberg84 I understand (ordered myself a couple of Nrf24l01+ in the meantime).

@gohan Fair comment, it was the best tool to resolve the problem. I spent 3 days reviewing what I had programmed, inspected wiring, and testing all DS18B20s, two of which are in the loft, only to discover that a faulty telephone socket had partially dislodged it's pins, my tool to resolve? A magnifying glass.... Isn't technology wonderful...:snail:

@Outlaw You could potentially connect it to the input of a relay module like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-1-Channel-DC-5V-Relay-Switch-Module-for-Arduino-Raspberry-Pi-ARM-AVR/322465448278?hash=item4b14704156:g:dzgAAOSwSlBY2bTH Why would you want only that though with no HA integration? If that's all you want, go to a store and buy a motion switch. Or am I missing something?

@mickecarlsson Why not just add that to your sketches? Or for that matter, create a library for it that you can just include in your sketches.

@8667 yes. Just comment MY_RADIO_NRF24 in the MQTT gateway example. Then present your sensors and send their data like any other node. From the build page (my emphasis) The W5100 MQTT gateway sends radio network (or locally attached sensors) data to your MQTT broker.
