Is this worth it?

I get emails from a company called Banggood and they have a cheap handheld oscilloscope. I am just wondering if this would be worth it for working on MySensors stuff?

Dunno about that one but I bought a Rigol 1054z 50Mhz which you can freely upgrade to 100Mhz

@dbemowsk might work for simple measurements, or to determine if you need a real scope or not.
When working with digital electronics a logic analyzer will come in very handy, e.g to analyze problems with serial communications.
The saleae logic is a good tool, or one of its clones. There are also scopes available that include a logic analyzer. I own a picoscope 2205 mso which I'm very excited about.

@dbemowsk I would not recommend it for MySensors use. the 200k kHz max is more suited for audio and the pushbutton interface will soon frustrate you. For a learning toy the price is hard to beat.. If you want something serious I go with @ericvdb (you can buy the Rigol local in most countries for a good price) and @Yveaux (if you are ready for a logic analyser)

Thanks for the input. I just saw the price and thought that if there would be any use for MySensors, I may get it.

I suggest you take a look at the following video

— GreatScott!Its "almost" the same

When you are planning to buy an oscilloscope the most important thing you should consider is the output signals it produces. I remember when I was in college it was the only equipment which was antiquated and outdated. Tektronix MSO2024B is a nice option I guess. Also, Tektronix MDO4000 is the best general purpose scope that is available today. Mixed signal oscilloscopes are also used these days.
