Thanks

@ramoncarranza I kill You! ! by @hek

No killing here (except for some magic smoke capacitors!)
But some forum discipline is nice!
-
@hek just want you to send you the link as you seem to be a busy individual
thanks

I joke a little, I agree with the basic rules
-
Is this actually PoE or what? I'm confused.
-
@bjornhallberg This question occurred to me too. I don't think so, as real POE is quite expensive.
-
@hek
wow!! you can get those?!!! If you come across a Flux Capacitor hit me up

I currently run Domoticz on an Orange PI PC. This is my main HA computer. I picked it up for about $18 US shipped. It has been running pretty reliably. No problems to speak of since I got it.

I'm interested in Orange Pi but read many complains which scares a little.
Which image are you using ? Direct from their site ?

Could you please give more details about your configuration for both hardware (power supply !) and OS+Software ? Thank you very much

I am using the ubuntu mate image directly from their site. I saw some claims that you could run a Raspberry Pi image, so just to test I plugged in my old raspberry pi SD card, and that didn't work. The ubuntu image though has worked flawlessly. I have the SD card just for the initial boot which then points it to an external drive. I am running the main OS from an external hard drive to help keep SD cards from failing which I dealt with a bit on my R-Pi.
For the power supply currently I just have a 5 volt 2 amp wall plug. I have seen some posts where some people have made small battery backed UPS type supplies for their R-Pi's and other micro PCs, so I am thinking of building some kind of online double conversion UPS for the setup at some point.
I'll get some pictures of the setup later today and post them.

Here are 2 pics of my setup.
The first pic is just of the Orange Pi and my gateway. The gateway is connected through one of the serial ports on the Orange Pi's GPIO pins. It can't be seen in the pic, but the top USB plug is for the external hard drive that has the OS on it.
This pic includes my USB hub. The thing in slot 3 of the hub is my 1-Wire interface. The breadboard was from some things I had set up on my old R-Pi setup. May still hook up that RTC module, not sure yet.
