@epierre I normally use a reflow oven and in your case I had to use a heat gun.

Hey @dakky how did you progress in building the housing? I would be happy to hear (of course also see) about your experiences since I am planing something very similar.

-- revisited --- I changed the bootloader to a 8mHz version. As the processor runs 8 times as fast the active period pulse width is now < 0.5 ms (earlier 3.8 ms) The sleep and active consumption have not changed. This would reduce the 'pulse' burden on the coin cell as attentively mentioned by @scalz. [image: 1457896553952-upload-49f13d13-d4ed-46aa-8576-a47e5f271d2e] Something comparable to 'internal resistance' increases as the charge reduces. This will impact the available voltage for the node. I used a conservative figure for battery capacity (50mAh) and a load current of 0.8uA which will be less if battery voltage goes down. [image: 1457897897595-upload-dae13a0d-52ee-46c3-b470-425dd5a225a0] [image: 1457898169118-upload-60cbec3f-4bb1-480a-a7a8-d5077d6b3f92] Have three nodes ready for real life test with constant battery measurement. I hope to report just within five years from now

The channel width of the nrf is "less than 1MHz" when using 250kbps according to the preliminary specification. At 2mbit the width is 2MHz. Increasing/decreasing the channel with 1 will move the center of the channel 1MHz. Maybe separating the two networks with more than 1 channel is required?

@Yveaux I used panasonic PIRs, they are hard to find and price ranges widely. I submitted the build last summer.

In clean air, I calculated the value of R0 by using MiCS quick evaluation board. Formula applied :(ADC/(RESOLUTION - ADC)) * 51820---for NO2 and (ADC/(ADC-RESOLUTION))*100820 -- for CO and in polluted air I applied same formula and gave it a name Rs Then took ratio of Rs/R0 which is less than one. So I had a slope and its constant meand y = m*x + c But i do not know how to derive equation to find out the value of ppm from Rs/0

Got my HLK-PM01in the other day so I removed the buck converter from my test board and added one of these and now it communicates fine. Thanks for the advice.

@Ironbar I did some test with the nrf24l01 the one that come with the pa + lna amplifier (100mw) and get more than a 1km on LOS. you may also try the RFM69HW.. the one that has 20dbm output.

@shabba said: Has anyone tried the moteino or anarduino using mysensors? I am very tempted to press the buy button on one or the other. Pity they are so pricey but I am getting lazy to solder etc so I like having it all on one PCB :-) I have! I'm using a Moteino as a gateway with a non -H and that worked out of the box. I'm now building some sensors (including the outdoors in the PIR-light one) with -H versions. I bought these Moteinos without the RFM to avoid customs costs. If you do buy them without RFM; do not forget to insulate the bottom side of the RFM with PV-tape. I didn't, and I couldn't get it to work properly. Insulated and away it went! In short: Moteino works! Small form-factor, wide voltage input with own LDO and low-power is easy. Succes with your projects!

@AWI Thanks. I know understand what you meant. I am also concerned with the safety of not blowing or overheating the device. THat's why I referenced a link to a devicee above because there are several components which I don't really know whether I need it with resiestive loads or not.

@AWI Right - I have about 50 104 (100nF) in my stock - they are very typical for atmega projects. Thanks once again for your help

@Terence-Faul not that I know of. And domoticz MQTT support is less than stellar. You cannot configure the topic(s) it listen to, and you need to go through node-red (a node.js app) to transform what the gateway sends. I honestly couldn't be bothered to install it, and went straight to mycontroller.org. I might try it out though, as I have a couple of lifx led bulbs that domoticz supports. Or (probably) I'll wait for openhab 2.0 to reach stable.
