the C modules are for Compatibility with an older radio module, so they are a bit smaller and a slight different pinout but still the same communication

If you wan to run all nodes throug one gateway you need NRF24 on all of your devices. Both gateway and sensor nodes. But you only use the Gateway code on the Gateway and sensor code on the rest of them and only the Gateway needs a connection to your WiFi.

Max speed is 150kbit/s so it's 10 times longer TX time at twice the max current compared to nrf24. That's the moment when the Livolo power supply can reach its limits so it doesn't sound like the right compromise to me. I never had problems while in RX mode.m with nrf24.

@rejoe2 said in Relay on when starting up: really open up a new one, you will never know whether you can reach all of your nodes reliably. Thanks for ideas, I will start to tackle them when I get some free time. Thanks all for input.

Graphical display is also one of my requirements alongwith data. What level of data security exists in running dashboard data ? Can i keep privacy with the fetched data?

I tried it with a simple digital binary sketch and it worked as far as the display goes. I could get a graph so I could know at what time the lighting strikes were. Trouble is, no lightning to test it fully with :(

@dbemowsk More a solution looking for a problem, the 'vision' of tattoos one day being used for health monitoring is beyond daft without implants monitoring specifics... Looks more likely to appeal to fashionistas... Could possibly have application at Comic-Con events, though sustaining battery power for four flashing LEDs would be a major issue.... Bizarre...

@ensbusiness said in SoCal help completing a MySensor system: Then I try adding a wireless sensor using the libraries from MySensor for the Atmega328P Pro-mini's and nRF2401's I already decided to use even before I found MySensors. The problem is that I can't seem to get the Pro-mini/nRF2401 combinations to send any usable data at all, either between two test units, let alone back to a Pi I think you are missing the point... you won't be sending messages peer-to-peer with my sensors. Rather, each sensor communicates through the gateway. @ensbusiness said in SoCal help completing a MySensor system: Adding a sensor to the Pi is what I already have up and running. I don't need or use a Controller for that. Again, focus on the radio bits first and forget about your Pi connected sensor for now. Read the docs... and wire up the gateway and a sensor exactly like the docs explain for the Pi gateway. Then, post some photos of your rig and the exact code you are using.

@Grubstake I suspect @carwywin pretty much ticked all my particular boxes.. Comms is not really the issue even though perceived as such, a central comms link will certainly work, if you can direct link off the side of a sheet clad side of a shed so be it, or make a reflector. It is all down to reliable acquisition of the data which informs the system. I would have to agree that the RFM69 solution would be my own personal preference, only because I settled on that as my particular solution after much chewing over options, YMMV. Wifi, here I have 6 different competing signals, on 430MHz only my car fob on a quick scan, but have no idea yet if the node will cause chaos if the local gypsies decide to camp in the car (as the remote locking is de-activated, time will tell :) ... It is a Citroen car, already an electrical and programming challenge as most modern cars are, my lot in life for loving hydropneumatic suspension, the last of their kind I understand... I suggest keep an open mind on comms, the 1km range is not insurmountable, concentrate on the what, develop the how later...

@Dick Still try to get it working. What I have untill now, 5 working relais, where 2 can be activated with a button. Only the Binary Button will not work and is not visible in Domoticz, For this Binary Button I used the default script (https://www.mysensors.org/build/binary). If I can get this button work (better is 2 Binary Buttons, my project is finished. Who can help me!
