@vorowski Thx for the info. It's been down before so I don't mind trying something else anyway. Maybe I can start presenting and logging forecasts from different prividers and then evaluate them 😀

However, reading carefully the descriptions state that some of the "5m strips may be soldered together" LOL, Normally not a problem, but the adhesive on the backside of the soldered parts can be weaken. also, they show pictures of 3M backing, but do not explicitly state that the backing is 3M. Well they are shipped with the 3M backing... but usually they can just support their own weight and not a gram more. I suggest to obtain double sided adhesive for parts that are more stressed.

Seems I finally got it working, I'm wondering if there is a way to show the open or closed "live" status on the device page? I can get emails sent as a notification but I would like to see the door status on the Vera Web page when I log in from my phone.. Thanks!!! [image: 1459047828446-garage-door-status.png]

@lundebc No, I'm in a "no time left on device" mode right now. I'm thinking of publishing the eagle files for anyone to use but have not done it yet. /Magnus

@pkriek If you can stick a light sensitive resistor onto that light you could measure when the light goes on and then do something (like send a message to domoticz). I'm also looking for a way to count the number of times a door opens (similar problem), no solution on Domoticz yet, still looking.

Thanks Gregl! Right now I like using it with my Chromecast. On my server, I have a little script where I can associate Youtube videos to tag ID's. So when I press one, that Youtube video associated with that tag is sent right to Chromecast and begins playing. When my son is a little older, I can stick the tags on toys and books so when he touches them to the thing, it could play his favourite videos associated with those objects too. I also have a client whose office is really into ping-pong and I'll make one for them soon. Maybe they can use it to keep score or something. They already made a little web-app for that.
  • Start with RFM69 radio module and Arduino Pro Micro as gateway

Ok, I think the project using the Pro Micro ends here. I did some testing (with NRF024 radio module) and I got it working. But the switching of USB ports (bootloader/serial port) is to much hassle. Very tricky to read the serial debug data because after each reset the serial port is unloaded and loads again, giving my serial program a "port not found ", the classis chicken-egg situation. I will switch over to the RFM69 radio module, but no Pro Micro.

@GertSanders I tried today and now I can download sketch correctly. One strange thing is that I have to open the serial monitor to have the arduino working after the download ... In // I think I have a problem with a bad RFM69 ...

Fixed the url, didnt check it after I posted it ^^ If someone has information how it runs on a linux/mac, please let me know. As I'm not sure if the application would run with ttyUSB1 or something like that as the serial port name.
