  @zboblamont OK, so experiments concluded that the return data from the latest version of Domoticz is a String whether it be V_VARx or V_TEXT. I tried the dual declaration using the same CHILD_ID as intended and as VAR_X (using an RF24 - not sure of the relevance) and the actual value sent but failed to make any sense of abstracting the Ulong conversion or the string. Only by presenting a fresh CHILD_ID and duplicating the send of data (water meter) as a V_VAR1 could I recover the last sent reading as a V_VAR1 from that fresh CHILD_ID, thence eventually arriving at 'strtoul' as a solution to restoring the last known value. For clarity my Gateway and Controller run on a UPS, and I hope shortly to add the spare router to that UPS so I'm not left in the dark on what is happening in the dark on a battery powered laptop... Hope this helps others trying to keep track of meters between relentless power cuts and reboots...

  @dbemowsk I'm sorry, I really don't know. I've never tried domoticz, not to mention any of its plugins. I do have Alexa working with my system, but I don't like it, just because of sending recorded voice out of the house all the time. So I plan to replace it once I get time to get Rhasspy going, assuming that I can get it going well enough. Alexa works very well with home assistant. Though we use a service that costs $5/month to be the cloud piece to interact with the Alexa service so that I don't have to get something standalone working here for that. Though I think that service is really only for integrating to home assistant, so it probably wouldn't do you any good. It's saved me a bunch of time, and as I want to use my time to replace the whole thing with Rhasspy, it's been worth it to me. But part of the reason I mention all of that is that with a quick search, it looks like controlicz is a similar service. Although they do say that you need to add the skill to your Alexa account. That would be annoying to me - doesn't that mean you need to say something like "Alexa, ask controlicz to turn on the kitchen light" or whatever?? With Nabu Casa, it also just uses the built-in smart home skill, so you don't have to install anything extra, leaving those extra words out each time. After the 10th time of having to do it I bet I'd really be gritting my teeth!

  Thanks everyone for the answers. However what I would like to do is create a routine with Dzvents that when I have the "red" indication (as shown in the image) causes a switch to operate which cuts the voltage to a device. The value of ".lastUpdate.minutesAgo" seems not to be the right solution because it continues to be increased in any case, regardless of the temperature value and the status of the "red" or normal indication.

  @mutantx, sorry for the late reply, but I was on holidays I've no experience with this sketch code, nor the hardware build of this mp3 player. Try to contact the author of this player or you can check the general documentation about the use of V_VARx / S_CUSTOM : https://www.mysensors.org/download/serial_api_20 Try to break up things in little pieces when accumulating knowledge about mysensors. Big complicated sketches can be overwhelming. I start always, when troubleshouting, with the cleanest version of the script, with minimum code required for operation. And then I build it up.

  Restarting domoticz might help next time, when you have original code running on that node again. Also some PIR cause radio interference, if i remember correctly, then hc sr501 should be ok.

  @WiktorDIY The ch340 are notorious for being broken. The best I ever achieved was 19200 and flakey.. I purchased a real Nano not a ch knock off eg uses a different uart no problems

  @Yveaux In Ethernet gateway mode, resetting sensor nodes didin't help.   @Olaf-Jacobs It's a straight analogue read on a single ADC pin relative to Vcc and ground of the Arduino Node. In my case it's a pro-mini, the ADC pin in this example earlier defined as "Pressure", the result radioed in only if the ADC reading has changed.   I have a similar issue with domoticz and ethernet gateway wired with W5100 ethernet shield. On the ehternet gateway only one temperature sensor is attached (DS18B20). I have checked that also nodes list is strange: Any suggestion? I will try by changing the protocol to MQTT but you look to have same problem (you have radio) and so the way to connect the gateway doesn't look to have influence.

  On a new card i updated OS to Raspian Buster and installed latest domoticz V 2.2020. BUT the problem still the same . no battery value present soon as this sensor report a new "data" AND it's as motion sensor and not as any other type of sensor. If it works to others i really don't understand what happens...

  @Eme Thanks for letting us know how you solved the problem - helps us all to learn. I've recently upgraded my Raspberry Pi 1b to 4 and just got it working as an ethernet gateway with standard NRF24 radio. I'm curious about a few things as I've been trying to also use a PA LNA radio but without success; Any reason you have set up your gateway as serial and not ethernet? What did you mean by "Don't rely on GPIO pins to power it, use a regulator". By regulator did you mean the capacitor, did you use another regulator component - I can't see from your image Did you change the power setting of you configuration file MyConfig.h -lowering the power to "RF24_PA_LOW'?

  Hi @David-Marlinge I have struggled with these meters in Domoticz also. I am using an S_Power meter for an energy monitor which looks like what you are using. This is my understanding: The value on the top of the bar is the power you have most recently sent (in Watts). Domoticz calculates kWh from the watts and the time it was sent. kWh used today is shown on the Utility screen (your 2036.992). Overall kWh is what is shown on the device tab (your 2311414.016). I present an S_POWER device, then measure the current and multiply by the voltage to get the power in watts. Then I send that with a V_WATT message. I don't calculate the kWh. Domoticz calculates kWh from the Watts I send and time I send it. For example: present(CHILD_ID_PWR, S_POWER, "Emon 38/26H"); . . . . . . . . MyMessage Msg_Pwr(CHILD_ID_POWER, V_WATT); . . . . . . send(Msg_Pwr.set(Pwr, 1)); Then the Pwr value should show up in that top bar. Domoticz will calculate the kWh used based on the time of the power updates. I have not really used the V_KWH variable, so I'm not sure how that fits in with this one.

  I use a BME280 sensor for outside and some 18b20's for inside. Domoticz works with these without problems but I do not use OTA - not figured that out yet I had to cut out all the weather prediction code on for the BME280 to make it run on a pro mini 3.3 but Domoticz has basic prediction built in.

  @boum I did it in this way from some time, but it looks less elegant. I have to make many virtual devices in domoticz, devices which send data to my lcd node. It works, but i think sending data directly to lcd will work better (or not... :)) The best solution would be ask directly domoticz (gw) about data sending from other node, but propably its not work in that way

  MySensors is built around nodes that collect data and send it over radio to a gateway connected to the controller. For your application, it sounds like you would create a node that collects information from your controller. Then you would need to add a MySensors gateway to your Domoticz setup. I'm not sure what you mean when you say your controller can transmit the information. If your controller and Domoticz are on the same network, you could have your controller send data directly to Domoticz using http. There is info about that in the Domoticz Wiki. Or, if your controller and Domotics are on the same network, you could add a MySensors MQTT gateway to the network and have your controller sent data using MQTT messages. Take a look at the Getting Started and Build pages on this site and you will get a good idea of how MySensors could fit in.

  I have found a workaround by sending the heartbeat message as a separate V_MULTIMETER child. This then gives me a voltage reading of 0V every 30 seconds that I can use with the Domoticz last update feature Would like to hear any better ways of doing this.

  Couldnt get it to work, so the gas and powermeters where replaced after a call to the Energy company. The new P1 smartmeters is connected with usb to Domoticz and works like a charm! Topic can be closed.

  @anand There was vastly more time wasted trying to get the original concept to work, than it look to learn basics of Domoticz scripting after finding a solution used by others. The sketch complexity and size is dramarically reduced for the Node, it still responds to changes in boiler or PSU condition within a second, and reports temperatures and power condition regularly. Domoticz reconciles everything to default 5 minute time slots, this method provides boiler run times to an accuracy of a minute which is quite adequate.

  @nca78 Nope, you didn't misunderstand at all, my experience using Domoticz is limited to basics thus far... Will look into that.. Before this PV problem arose, had been looking at recording daily pump run times for both the domestic-supply and borehole pumps, easy enough for the borehole circuit, but the domestic runs LevControl->Contactor->PressureSwitch->Pump, so the auxiliary no-volts on the Contactor is permanently closed, hence a potential solution using a vibration sensor. Thinking about this overnight it may be possible to rewire LevControl->PressureSwitch->Contactor to solve the on/off indication from the auxilary on the main Contactor. If the number of starts per 10 minutes/hour exceed a threshold , a separate alarm flag could be signalled by your suggested method. Many thanks...

  @atermentis I noticed the sketch has the ”demo” DEADBEEFFEED mac address. Do all sketches have the same address? All mac addresses on a ethernet network must be unique. If they are not unique, strange communication problems will occur.

  After some faffing around and zero Linux confidence, tried fsck to recover the old setup and drive but still could not get the usual domoticz 8080 screen showing. Some scrolling through the Wiki troubleshooting guide later, stopped the service, chown-ed the file permissions, manual test start and the old system was back. Stopped that then started the service properly and it is all back up and running again, so once it has updated all the nodes properly will do a complete backup in preparation for a UPS powered changeover.

  If you are using a serial gateway, then no, you cannot. The serial messages can only go to one place, so one of the two controllers will win. It might get mixed up - some messages to one, some to the other. I don't know about the other two types of gateway.

  Hi @jack, welcome to the forum! GatewaySerial.ino is the right one. See https://www.mysensors.org/build/serial_gateway for details. SerialGateway is probably left from an old MySensors installation. It is no longer present in the MySensors code.

  In addition to the remark on declaring sensor to Domoticz, the sketch itself seems to me a bit confusing. Normally, you should do setup into setup function (stuff like pin mode, even eventually reading saved config and setting relay in correct state), presentation should contain only sendsketchinfo() & present(), loop should do the repetitive job. You should avoid blocking the loop, especially if you want to receive messages (as you did). You're using relay from pin 2 to 6 but sensor 1 to 5, but when receiving an order to set sensor x, you set pin x (instead of x+1). Result may not exactly be what you want/imagine. You're turning pump off only when receiving a message (as the test is done here), instead in the loop. You're using digitalWrite() on some analog pin (A1) You're sending udpdates every 2 seconds, while sending either changes or data at larger interval may fit better. In addition, you may also want to simplify: send(msgNEPA.set(sensorState?"0":"0")) by send(msgNEPA.set(0)) (in addition, this will send numeric value instead of string, don't think that sending a string is what you want) and send(msgNEPA.set(sensorState?"1":"1")) by send(msgNEPA.set(1)) May I suggest you explain what you have, and what you want to do, for us to guide you setting the sensors properly?

  @eme If you are talking on the side of the nRF24 radio module then yes, the 4.7uf or above AFAIK is recommended in here as a minimum. I could see this happening if there were occasional packet collisions with the gateway because the radio cannot refresh fast enough due to of the quick draw of power on the radio.

  @alowhum Always been curious how Domoticz treats the V and S values, so tended to follow the MySensor API and had a few if unexpected moments and results along the way. You implied that presentation of V_PRESSURE pre-determines an expectation of S_BARO irrespective of whatever further S_? statement follows. Is this understanding correct?

  Ad=s far I understand, we're speaking about radio ACK, which just confirm the right reception on the message, what could be sent. Then, that's gateway that can understand message contents. If senders returns NACK, it just means that no radio ACK has been received from the other end within timeout (set to 1500 ms with MySensors' setup, running @ 250 kb/s, with 15 retries). That's exactly what happens when sending message and receiver off. In the current issue, as you're on a repeater, you're in a good position to be in a position of receiving a message, and sending immediately another one (we can also have the same thing if implementing signature), were timing issues may happen.

As there's no USB-Serial converter in the setup @alexsh1 uses, the mc will not be reset when communication is (re-) startet from controller side - imo that's all. Some explanation, might be of interest for future discussions on that: I had comparable "problems" using a Pro Micro as a GW; this mc also will not be reset when USB communication is reconnected. Most likely also other mc's providing direct USB communication (e.g. STM32F1xx) will show similar behaviour.

  @pjr I am still a noob when it comes to C. And I have not had the time to examine the Domoticz source code. But at first glance those lines seems as V_PERCENTAGE, V_SCENE_OFF, V_STOP and V_RGBW that updates the last seen on heartbeat. I have had my node running now for 2 days just checking this heartbeat. And I can for shore sasy that is only working for the door sensor. Which presents it self as S_DOOR and sends V_TRIPPED messages. It is not working for the motion sensor presenting it self as S_MOTION and also sends V_TRIPPED messages. And one more really strange thing is that it is only working on the door sensor when the door is open. Not closed!

  Hello All, I have corrected the problem with these sensors. I found a .hml configuration file on the OpenZwave website for these devices. I copied this file into the directory /home/pi/domoticz/Config/hank and then renamed it to the original file Domoticz had for these devices after backing up the originals. I then tried to exclude these two devices, but I could not. Domoticz added them back with new device ID's and the devices were able to their state changes as expected.

  you could then start adding the switches as S_Binary and use some rules in Domoticz to activate scenes where you can set the dimmers values. In the sketch i'd present the different sensors by hand so you can have a better control on the child IDs

  For anyone finding this: in the end I changed the V_TEXT value in a MySensors node in Domoticz by creating a Blockly that calls an API URL that updates the text value. 192.168.1.30:8080/json.htm?type=command&param=udevice&idx=18&nvalue=0&svalue=awesomeness Replace the IP address, idx value with the node ID number in domoticz, and 'awesomeness' with your values. // UPDATE: The Aurora theme now makes this even easier. Just clock on the value in the Domoticz interface, and change it. So: utility page -> click on the text value -> change it -> click outside of the text to save the change.

  I read this post yesterday and today I solved it. My GW was restarting as soon as I was sending a command to a MYS node with dimmer child. I am using nRF PA-LNA, with extra power supply, PA_HIGH. Domoticz 3.8795, MYS 2.1.1. Nano as serial GW. Tried PA_LOW, new nRF but that didn't help. Today I found the solution, I disabled DEBUG in GW and now I can't reproduce any restarts.

  So, got my ESP8266 and set it up as the ethernet gateway. Removed the on-board RPi gateway. Domoticz picked up the new gateway easily enough (this has never been an issue). Now, turned on my nodes (with static nodeIDs) and the gateway picked up one of the two nodes (why? no idea). Sent presentation to gateway then to Domoticz. Domoticz sees the humidity sensor as S_UNKNOWN but with V_HUM values???? I have no idea what is happening. The ESP gateway log shows the sensor as S_HUMIDITY just fine. So, this is a new wrinkle. But the same issue persists - temp/hum updated on the Hardware view of the gateway but Device view of that sensor is never updated from initial state. I am this close to taking the whole system out back with a baseball bat. So, status now: Only 1 of 2 nodes seen by gateway (unique IDs on both) The 1 node values are sent to gateway around every 5 minutes (with new values as tested over night) Domoticz does not update the Device with any new values from initially seen data Gateway serial log is showing updates just fine MYScontroler running on my Windows box also sees the updates just fine OpenHab2 does not see any updated from initially seen data Stress level at 100%

  @mfalkvidd Thank you for that synopsis. I had already looked at most of these threads, but did not focus on them too much as have no experience using node-red, even though familiar with it's history. Node-red is pre-installed on the Pi3, so guess I should try getting to grips with it. @gohan I had already considered using a dedicated Pi3/HDD to handle and locally store time based utility consumption (water, power, gas), as this would avoid interfering with the existing arrangement or performance until switching over and reprogramming the utility nodes. That way, an entirely separate control system/methodology could be deployed, again, node-red seems the recommendation. I had not thought on direct attaching the radio as have an unused Sensebender Gateway (yet to identify why the RFM69 isn't playing nice), but I guess it makes sense and I have both the W and CW chips sitting idle... Cheers, time to do some re-reading...

  @pjr That was one thing that made it hard for me on some nodes when I was using Domoticz. One of the big ones was my sprinkler node. The node passes zone names and run times using the V-VARx if you use the code on the build page. Because of the fact that at the time Domoticz didn't support those, I had to re-write code for the node to hackishly (if that's even a word) make the three values work.

  Personally I'm using the last versions of both the arduino ide and the boards definitions. Also I would expect all of us would be seeing the same problem if that was the case, wouldn't we? Not a big deal for me anyways, the only reason to select the wemos d1 r2 in my case is because I'm using an enclosure designed for the arduino uno which it fits perfectly... But no problem on switching to the nodemcu.

  @mfalkvidd First thing one does is to follow instructions exactly and hope things will work out. They don't. You try a different type of connection. Which one? Why one or the other? Which option among the same type? It doesn't work, either. Now, you are thinking, ok this guide is for several controllers, so how do I adapt it for my specific case. The point being, you can't adapt the instructions on your own. You have to ask someone who's done it before and knows what commands to use in order to make Gateway connect to the specific controller. For example: using --my-gateway=ethernet --my-controller-url-address=YOUR-CONTROLLER-ADDRESS will never connect your Gateway to Domoticz. How can one know that this is the line to be modified?

  Exactly the same as @stefaanv and many others, I started with Domoticz and used it for few years, but after a while it was a bit too much "this script for this", and "this hack for that", and this in python and seven virtual switches for that hack... So I was looking into a more robust solution, and I was sold on presentations that leading people of OpenHAB held online, showing the architecture, the reasons and plans, having clear roadmap and long term plan for the system. I feel I understand how and why openhab works the way it does, why it is organized in such a fashion. And that is very important with any software, to have a good documentation (technical, not just for the users). With domoticz, almost no idea about how it was internally organized, why and what the future plans are. It was always somehow "well this is what we have, it works, and here are the workarounds... with bunch of hidden difficult to find virtual switches and rest api" When I started making more "abstracted" rules about events and logic, then lua showed quite a few challenges, but it was mainly having 30-40-50 virtual switches, a pain in the ** keeping track them all, making rules for each of them (f.eks. switches for datetime: isSunrise, isMorning, isAfternoon, isEvening, isNighttime, isDaytime..... isSomeoneHome, isMeHome, isWifeHome,... ) And this was actually the biggest issue I had with domoticz, handling and organizing the automation part and virtual switches. At the end I had like 6-7 times more virtual switches then physical ones. Then I moved in another apartment and decided to try openhab2. It is just way more robust. It didn't took me a long time to get up and running, and having items defined in a text file is a blessing as you can just do a backup, organize them in multiple files, use git (or backup) for versioning. Writing comments also helps A LOT when you come back to the item after few months/years. Only thing I was struggling a bit is the RFlink, whose binding is not quite ready yet. But I managed to install and use rflink->mqtt "gateway" and all works as expected. I am also using node-red for logic as @Fabien which I am still learning, but so far it looks much much better and easier to debug. Not all challenges from above are domoticz related, some are also "me a rookie" related, so not to downspeak on domoticz, it works great! As long as you are comfortable with all above and dont plan to overgrow it. My goal is to make "smarter home", more then just basic rules and remote home. (about remote home, my.domoticz.com for remote access never actually worked for me, noone could/tried to solve it, so I felt it didn't work) And that is where the community comes in place, it feels that the people on the openhab are more technical, and generally have great technical discussions about best solutions and approaches. F.eks. only for persisting values, you can have multiple completely different database systems, using the advantage of each of them. And each is very easy to install, as they all comply to some "technical rules and documentation". Now that is a downside, as you need to know that you need persistence strategy at all, I wish some would come predefined, but... I am not developing anything, but I feel there are "big boys" who think hard about issues and then develop a long term and best solution for the problem. And I want a stable and long term solution for my home automation, and waf On the other side, openhab is a bit more technical, but I think that someone who can change mysensors sketches and make that work, can make openhab work as well. They are very focused on "non-technical" user these days, and it shows with every update. I guess home-assistant is pushing its way forward. (a novel about my life and divorce with domoticz will be published someday, snippet above is just the preview, I have too much caffeine cannot sleep help)

  @gohan Yes, they are/were. Alas, case solved... I have lost a line of code somehow. Which in this case meant that presentation was done correctly but these "missing values" were never actually sent, thereby keepin Domoticz from accepting them (seems every parameter to be recognized must actually have been sent once).   Not sure how this is handled in Domoticz. On my controller (FHEM) you can also use the "by-id"-path of the serial gateway (or alternatively the "by-path"-path) to make sure you get the rigth data from the right point in system. For getting the necessary info, you type "ls -l /dev/serial/by-id" (linux-console) and most likely you have to enter the entire path for defining your gateway correctly in Domoticz, eg. "/dev/serial/by-id/usb-FTDI_FT232R_USB_UART_A901RQ9F-if00-port0" (add the baud rate, if necessary).

  I am fine if they get combined but still let me choose individual one: in my first screenshot you can see the sensors are all combined but no individual ones. I think also that playing with child ids could play a role in this.

  If you want to debug the gateway you need to have it configured as ethernet and use myscontroller or mqtt and use any mqtt client. But since you already figured that it's actually the controller that is sending the delayed commands, I guess it's an issue much more to the controller engine rather than mysensors. Did you ask in domoticz forum yet?

  @B_Johnny23 Raspberry 3's GPIO/serial port ? I can see "Using serial port: /dev/ttyUSB20" in your log. It looks like serial through USB.   Domoticz lists the nodes as hex imo (and also adds the child number at the end). Have a look at your gateway in the "hardware" tab. It should list the right (the same as in your sketch) node id there.

  Thanks for still coping with me. Tried playing with your suggestions but no success as well. But i found the problem. SOLUTION: I just gave the wind-sensor-node a different NODE_ID manually and now it updates the direction value. Seems there was some problems with old data when i used this arduino as a temp sensor.

  No, I have a gas-heater that has a powerplug to turn it on and off. As binary as it gets. What I was looking for MySensors code for a node that is a stand-alone thermostat, but that can also be given an override setpoint through Domoticz. I am looking for tips/code that will let Domoticz send a keep-alive signal to the node. Basically I'm looking for ways to do this robustly and securely. There are so many configurations possible.

  By the way I just had similar errors. I have an rgbw controller nod up and running that can be controlled from the frontend of domoticz. Trying to control it from a script threw the same error as in the link above. I will be trying to restart the node tomorrow, but if I am not the only one seeing the problem there might be an error in domoticz somewhere.

General remark: as long as you do not change your hardware setup, you should find the same point of measurement reported under a specific temp-Child-ID using the standard sketches. The sketches above go a little further wrt. this.

  I have a lua time script running in domoticz that triggers a switch 'On" to every node every minute. the node replies by swtiching the id off again and counts how many times the host send a switch command, every 6 minutes the counter is checked, and in case lower than 5, a hard reset is done. in domoticz I check if the off command is received and if the off command is not received for more than 3 minutes I trigger a switch "node alive" to off as soon as the swtiching is received again, i put the "node alive" on again. this way I can also visualize the uptime of the nodes in my network when the" node alive" is off, some scripts are disabled because they have interactions between mysensor signals and other inputs, and the dependancies are not valid anymore as soon as the node is not alive anymore

  Handling the short press/long press/release by the arduino is quite easy. I can already send a different event regarding what happens on each button, but the event has to be handled by domoticz Previously, I was using a custom-made software for all my home automation. I handled the thing like this : When event is "pulse" : if timer is OFF and light is OFF : - Turn a timer ON for 5 seconds. - Turn light to 1st dim level (levels are 2, 5, 10, 30, 50 and 100%) if light is ON and timer is ON : Reset timer to 5s. Turn light to next dim level If light is ON but timer is OFF : Turn light OFF when event is "hold" : -do another action (ie. turn on/off another light)... That was working corretly, I did put this script in a function that I could reuse for each light easily, but it was my own home automation system software, and now I want to turn to another system, no more time to fix/enhance my own software !

  Update. Please note that when @kk02067 gave the response directly above it was for Ver 2.0 and referenced a line in that code. It appears that changes leading to Ver 2.1.1 the location has changed and the delay(100) line would not be added at L463 as referenced. In Ver 2.1.1 it is now added between L659 and L660. It will look like this I believe: L658 _msgTmp.destination = sender; L659 // send ACK, use transportSendRoute since ACK reply is not internal, i.e. if !transportOK do not reply ADD delay(100) here!! L660 (void)transportSendRoute(_msgTmp); Also, I have not yet used Ver 2.1.1, so don't know if the changes in the latest version might solve the Domoticz relay ack issue I had. This solution solved my problems 100% in Ver 2.0.

  Yes you can do it with the rfm69 but you have to send it as a sound level because mysensors does not have the facility to send the Rssi properly as yet.

  Duh! Just realized that the node is sleeping while waiting for the message! There are no debug messages while waiting, the node just sleeps. What threw me off, was that the time and date are received OK, but that was at the beginning of the first loop, while the node was awake. I'll try the request() function ASAP. Thanks.

  @ostgardh - I have the same setup and never uses inclusion mode button on the hardware. There is a setup in the domoticz software to turn off inclusion but normal case is that it includes everything that sends a value.

  So I researched this a bit and here is the answer: The grouping of devices origins from this commit: https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz/pull/847 and the logic is: https://github.com/domoticz/domoticz/issues/276 Unfortunately it doesn´t work very well with other sensor combinations that Temp/hum/pressure - like mine with voltage, impedance and so on.. I found a workaround by naming all sensors v_hum - then they are placed in different groups and are possible to work with in domoticz...

  @mfalkvidd i've tried to comment that, when i compile it with AVR boards v 1.6.15 it just restarts all the time. Tried with v1.6.8 and then it stopped restarting. However, i still can't ping my gateway. I've seen that other people get a message that the gateway has started, but i don't get that.

You can just use the raw ADC values to work out the best threshold for when the bed is occupied. Try the sketch below and see if you get meaningful results .   @sundberg84 Is there any trick to get this to work in Domoticz ? I have just added a heartbeat to one of my sketches and I don't see any changes in the last seen time for that node in Domoticz. The serial monitor for the node reports the heartbeat is sent TSP:SANCHK:OK TSP:MSG:SEND 8-8-0-0 s=255,c=3,t=22,pt=5,l=4,sg=0,ft=0,st=ok:1258134 Heartbeat Sent But I get nothing in Domoticz, should I see it in the log file?

  @AWI how do I use request()? What I need to do is my automation for the sensors is running on the Arduino itself. So, if domoticz stops working and then some values of the switches or lights change, I want Domoticz to display the same values not the values it had the last time. I tried what @nagelc said but it changes the state of the switch in domoticz. I just want to update what domoticz displays not actually change the state of the LIGHT. I read on Domoticz forum that this can be achieved using dummy switch which when set up as the slave for the actual switch only updates the displayed state of the switch. But this was discussed for JSON. I don't know how to make mysensors talk to the dummy node. Do you have any idea about this?

  @drradkin First you need to add your serial gateway as a hardware device. You can see below my LAN Gateway on the hardware page. You will need to select the Mysensors gateway USB from the drop down list and probably enter the serial port it is connected to. Once the gateway is running start up your node and then click the setup button for the mysensors gateway. You should now see the node listed. if you click on the node you will see its children listed as well. In the picture below you can see my lightning detector node which also has two light (relay) switches shown as S_LIGHTS_BINARY with child id's of 3 and 4 Now you go to the Devices page and you should see the switches listed there. You can see my two switches with a unit id of 3 and 4 in the middle of the list. Now to use these you will need to click on the green arrow for the switch over on the right side of the page (mine are blue as they are already added) to add them to your used devices. you will get a requester to give it a name. Then you will be able to see them on your switches page. Again you can see my two switches called Flood Lights and Pool Lamps. you can turn them on and off by clicking the light globe icon.

  @Patrik-Söderström I used this calculator. I entered 3.3V as the input voltage and 1.0 as the output voltage. I set R2 to 330 which is a common resistor value. I pressed "Compute" and got a value of 759 for R1: 759 ohm is not a resistor value that is available, but I looked at the values in the pack on ebay and saw that the nearest was 680. I entered that in R1 and cleared the output field: and pressed Compute again. I now got an output of 1.078V which can be seen as close enough to 1V. This can of course be done by hand, and is a nice educational task if you want to learn the details The important part is the ratio between the two resistors. Try with 680,000 and 330,000 in the calculator and you'll see that you get the same output value. However, there is a third component: The LM393. It also has a resistor value. If the resistors in the voltage divider are small compared to the resistor in the LM393, the calculations will be correct. But if the resistors have about the same value as the resistor in the LM393 the calculations must take the LM393 into account. That's why 330 and 680 ohm probably works better than 330kohm and 680kohm. A caveat with using small resistor values is that they will consume more power. This is important if the sensor is battery powered, but since the NodeMCU generally consumes too much power to run on battery anyway we can ignore the power consumption for now. As long as the resistors are at least 100ohm the used power will be less than what the NodeMCU consumes.
