Is there anyone using MQTT as gateway for connecting to openHab running on another Rpi. If so please help with any links, post or any information to direct me on the right path.
@tsunami My setup is max 50m radius and 433MHz standard power RFM69s so a small 1/4 wave whip works reliably even from a below ground pump chamber 10m away.
Your 915MHz at 200m SHOULD work on 1/4 wave if obstacle free line of sight, but you could try a 2.4GHz Wifi router at one location and use a mobile at the other to test if you can see the router. I can see at least 3 neighbouring routers identified on my mobile from over 40m away through masonry, 10 on the laptop, so it's a simple enough test.
If you can see the router on either, 915MHz should be rock solid with a simple whip and no need of directional antenna.
Advantage of this sensor is fast and easy installing by the non qualified personal. The sensor is designed for large agriculture facility with many greenhouses where is needed to be controlled temperature and humidity, the atmospheric pressure is for control the motor of air inlet and outlet. With help of the sensor installed outside the greenhouse provide information about positive/negative pressure inside the greenhouse.
Finlay the software read accurate temp/humid value of the Si7021, and only atmospheric pressure of BMP180, the temperature sensor inside the BMP180 is used only by the sensor itself to provide accurate atmospheric pressure measurements.
The sensor can be used also for home automation, and drone applications where is needed correction of the UAV barometric sensor compared to the ground barometric sensor, also humidity measurement can help the pilot to calculate more accurate flying time.
Understand it might be annoying.. We run the latest version of the notif-plugin mentioned above (0.3.1). So it seems they still have some issues. They had an issue (which is closed) that sound like the things you experience.
I can't seem to find any related user setting in my account either.

Orange Pi is a controller and not a gateway. If you are suggesting you want to use the 5v adapter to power both controller and gateway I can not answer you. It might work but in the same time it might be to weak or to much interference. Try! If you get alof of random freezes and/or bad network communication you might want to seperate them
It might work - but using the nrf24l01+ amplified requiers some more juice than then pro mini/uno/nano can handle so I suggest using a power in with a good voltage regulator (that can provide high current) and then split of to each unit.
