Figured it out. I had to send HVAC_FLOW_STATE to HA, in order for it to figure out that it was a "thermostat". Only problem is that it shows up with states "Auto" "Cool" "Heat" and "Off" in the dashboard, even though I only have the possibility to heat, or turn it off.

@tbowmo said in Laundry sensors: Just need to make something durable so that the sensor isn't destroyed if someone decides to overfill the basket, and force the drawer in. You just need to put it recessed inside an enclosure, it doesn't need a very wide aperture. For using above the table except if you have a low ceiling it won't do the job properly, in theory it's up to 2m but with daylight I couldn't detect non-reflective things further than 1m. If you have a relatively dark room you can measure further but it must be dark with a very reflective surface to really reach the claimed 2m. There's a VL53L1X with twice the range that is more expensive (close to 10$ with shipping it seems) and that will likely use way more power. I've never tried it, but I think I will soon as I really want to buy one now

As an example, of using the mysensors nodes, here is my current "main" flow, converting mysensors serial protocol to / from MQTT.. The goal is to switch domoticz to run with mqtt at some point in time, and then skip the domoticz <-> mqtt transformation steps. Or even skip domoticz completely, as I only use it for some automation scripts in LUA. All graphing etc. is handled by influxdb / grafana instead. But right now I am leaving domoticz untouched to keep the WAF as high as possible [ { "id": "2257718.fdda88e", "type": "subflow", "name": "Energy meter", "info": "Converts input from arduino sketch, What about PINE64 ? Did anyone try it ? Actually I ordered it from kickstarter when it was launched in April 2016 ( I guess ) but I didn't have the enough time to run it.

@mfalkvidd That's probably possible. I haven't looked that far into it yet.. But I think there is an option to make a "sub menu" for board variants..

Just found out that influxdata, is now making builds for armhf platform, from version 0.11.. So no need to compile stuff yourself for that part.. News are on their blog here https://influxdata.com/blog/announcing-influxdb-0-11-ga-kapacitor-telegraf/ And install instructions for ubuntu / debian is here https://docs.influxdata.com/influxdb/v0.9/introduction/installation/#ubuntu-debian

@stedew Thanks for the info. My problem was much simpler, as I hadn't defined the right interrupt pin in the software that the rfm69 was connected to. So after setting this, I had communication up and running.

@tbowmo I'm using a Harmony Companion, it's only the hub and a simple remote. Before I used a Harmony One and for me it's no problem not having a display anymore. By default I can setup 3 different activities (can be too limited for some) and I integrated the Harmony Hub in a Vera Edge. The Edge can be triggered on activities which you activate. No it does not yet do what you demand ,but for me the Hub is a great addition to HA.

@blacey Yup, @hek also pointed me in the directions of those changes. However, while reading up on the communication specs for the ws2812b (as I had in mind using for the GW), I found them to be very timing critical, so I think it would be too much trouble to implement this type of controller for the status LED's, and therefore I have dropped that idea again.

Hmm.. firmware updates in the field are not that easy, when you have to stand on a ladder to do the update. Luckily I can place my laptop on the top of the wall, just under the roof in the barn. Maybe I should do something about OTA firmware updates.. On the other hand, then I wouldn't see that the controller went haywire, and tried to close an already closed port, which almost broke the chain drive for the port.. @Johnny-B-Good No positioning yet, only open / close functionality. But as I just wrote in an earlier post today, there is an encoder available, that the original controller is using to determine positioning, I could probably use the same encoder in my arduino addon hack. However, I need to get a new motor unit, as I have destroyed one by accident.. (I have two ports with separate openers attached. One is working at the moment with mysensors integration, while the other is completely dead due to over voltage on the 5V logic)

@Anticimex Actually I didn't plan on using security features at the moment for this one, as we can't lock the garage door anyways. But it might be changed at some point in time. Right now, it will only be a proof of concept though, to play around with..

Well, since radio uses SPI I guess if there was an issue, nothing would work But the SPI flash device might have some special requirements which was broken. I use a hacked EthernetGW since my commit that manages SPI_EN signal was removed from development branch so I am not using fully "vanilla" code though. But that is a HW problem in the W5100 module, not in the libraries and my fix is a workaroud for that specific HW isse (and only applicable on W5100:s with SPI_EN accessible to the AVR.

No, it is not possible nor recommended. The gateway probably need all processing power it has to handle incoming messages and routing to/from serial interface.
