Hardware for first project
-
Hi all, I'm about to start my first project and would need some advice for what hardware I should get.
The goal of the project is to have a motion-sensor that monitors the movement in a room at a minimum of 90 degrees v/h. When movement is absense for a period of time an IR blaster/tranceiver should turn of the TV in the room.
the device will be powered by the USB port on the TV, apart from that I'd like to keep the unit slim. Soldering is fine if needed.
Thanks

Welcome to the MySensors community @garnser !
The getting started guide has good recommendations to get you started.
The ir example lists which parts you'll need for ir communication.
The motion detection example lists which parts you'll need to detect motion.
I suggest you read the entire getting started guide, since it most likely will save you a lot of time.
The forum has lots of extended discussion on both ir and motion, but I recommend that you start small and get the basic examples working before you extend. If anything is unclear, just ask away :)
