The Serial gateway is the most simple solution, less can go wrong (software/hardware wise). So if the location of the gateway in your house is good, just use it and don't bother with the Ethernet variant.

@AWI Thanks. I know understand what you meant. I am also concerned with the safety of not blowing or overheating the device. THat's why I referenced a link to a devicee above because there are several components which I don't really know whether I need it with resiestive loads or not.

@emre299 when you click on Burn Bootloader, you get these errors avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 1 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x03 avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 2 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x03 So you verified the connections. Did you verify also with a multimeter? A wire can be broken internally Do you have another pro mini to verify the connections? I would try different settings like the normal settings 3.3V and 8Mzh externally, etc If this does not work, I have no ideas anymore...

@ahmedadelhosni Its still wery new and the implementation is based on dimmer. This way you can get options from 0 to 100 and also its the reason the selector has separate on/off switch. The problem is the mobile app. It just dont have proper implementation yet to show selector as buttons or dropdown.

For instance, with "orange" internet provider, i know how to redirect the port :1234 from internet to :80 intranet... but only once. This is cool for 1 non editable port. Sadly I don't think we can close the :80 port. It is (was) used by all the chat software. For the rest: never keep the box-user, never keep the box-software, try to never keep the box-ports. The bad guys KNOW this things. For a old but still used automation-device (witch can control big companies) it still the box-parameters. So... easy to enter into the programs. It was the same for Americans money distributor !!! (now, the have a random password when send to the client)

Well I tested again not defining a radio for a sensor node (relayactuator) and it didn't compile. OK But my issue was with GatewayW5100, if I didn't define the NRF radio, nothing work at all and nodes are not communicating with the GW. In all cases, I just needed to highlight that this may save someone's else time

GUI updated. then pressed on "Child's Room@ to switch it off. GUI was not updated. then pressed on "Bedroom" to switch it off. GUI was updated + switch position for "Child's room" was set to OFF. Hi, I think that board is bad air now, the board in hardware is well, but in software not, no linux suport now, this company is asking to community to provide a linux support, because they cannot do this work. and only a sdk from allwinner with android is provided. this board with linux won't work with accelerated gpu only headless and doesn't have any sata. more info https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/linux-sunxi/Ze_UhiO00t8 there are boards with a soc allwinner A20 that have sata port and works well with mainline linux only headless mode and basic graphics. or kernel 3.4 for graphics support. and has a community effort with distribution like armbian.com check these site for headless debian, works well. more info at linux-sunxi.org or http://linux-sunxi.org/Linux_mainlining_effort for check new features and new boards support.

@antlomb My personal opinion: when inititial euforia about ESP8266 has ended, people started to realize that the chip is actually not that reliable for solid tasks like home automation. Besides, it has huge problems with deep sleep and even if they are fixed, the module reboots on every wake-up consuming a lot on start up

Thank you for your reply. Things are getting more clear. I am just still not familiar with the chip. Suppose now that I have one chip as a transmitter and I have 8 nodes as receivers. In the first case the TX will be able to transmit to all 8 nodes successfully, right ? But If now I want after transmitting to be able to receive an ACK or a specific form of bytes which indicates that the value was received by one of the 8 eights correctly. Will that be applicable ? Will the trasnmitter node be able to receive from the 8 nodes ? As I said I still can't get how is the nrf configured, like what are adresses and whether all nodes has same frequency or not...etc. Thank you.
