I have posted a question regarding what i think could be the fix to my issue over at: https://community.openhab.org/t/push-state-of-one-mqtt-topic-to-another/27597 Not sure if it will become of anything though. If anyone else has any experience with MQTT and openhab2 over here, then please be sure to shout a thought. It seems that not many people have got this sketch to work with openhab, google searches are bringing up posts from a year or two ago made on our forum here regarding this issue with no clear/simple solution.

@scalz - You're right. There doesn't seem to be an issue with mouser. I must have gotten hooked up with digikey and some of the smaller sellers. I have a contact ticket open with mouser and the manufacturer for one of the models, as they can't tell me what the code means and the datasheet doesn't specify it either. Will post back here with what the order code "988-AT25DF512CSSHNGU-B" means. The minimum order is £33 for me at the moment, I seem to remember this being a little higher last time i checked, so not sure if its a limited time thing (worth a look if anyone wants anything from there). Is anyone in need of these ICs as i would order some for you and post to you if you just cover the cost of the item and then the postage for them (more than likely cheaper than paying for postage from them at £12 per shipment, to the UK anyway).

@gohan - Dell R710 over here, brought pretty cheaply in the UK tbh. I have a few things running on it as I'm Microsoft trained and certified so i enjoy messing with that kind of stuff. I was once in that field and attempted to get some work but nothing ever came from it (i got sick of hearing "Sorry, you don't have sufficient work experience") so I've ended up back in University studying mechatronical engineering Anyway, that is another topic for discussion, you're welcome to message me anytime for a chat, would be nice

Would there be much call for the current sensing capabilities on this board? Do people actually care for per module current sensing or would you just rather monitor your main electric board for overall usage?

@kluszczyn - I was doing that last night and it wasn't working. However, it has started to work this morning. I have no idea why it wasn't doing it last night (Probably user error, admittedly). I have the issue sorted this morning. Will update the title of this thread now. MODs are welcome to remove the post if needed. I personally use MQTT.fx to monitor my MQTT channels, just in case you ever needed to change for some reason or would like to check out the if it has any features you require.

The updates have been applied to Rev 2, below we have a list of everything that has been added/modified; Modification footprint for 3 items to make it easier to mount (Slow blow fuse, Thermal Fuse and Voltage Regulator) when hand soldering. Modification to nRF24L01+ Module to remove the short to ground on VCC line. Added the additional silkscreen labeling that was missed off by accident. This should be all that is needed for Rev 2 to be a successor to the Rev 1. We still have the issue with having to use pogo pins to program through the ISP connection, or to temporarily solder jumper wire into the 6 pin connection while uploading, then everything else can be programmed through the on-board FTDI connection. Will get the gerber files generated ASAP and then get them sent off for testing production runs.

Does anyone have any opinions of voltages and current through screw terminals? I'm looking around for terminals for AC power, i can get some 3.5mm pitch that handle >250VAC and then other 3.5mm will only handle >100VAC. I know there is different grades of plastic and metal, but can there seriously be that much difference or is this an instance of the manufacturer just covering their backs and i would be fine to use any terminal?

yep, it's a long time Microchip wanted to acquire Atmel. few months ago, they won negociations. I like Microchip products, and this is a solid company (I started by learning microchip like lot of people!). They have started to release an MPLAB Xpress some times ago, which is a cloud based MPLAB, with community etc..I have not tried it, as I prefer my offline compilers but I hope their association with atmel will be promising in future for us..

@hek, thank you for that. I have had a quick look on his topics page and i will read through in more depth later on. I see he was the guy that created the IR Blaster than i was reading about a few months back. Looks a nice little module for universal controlling with IR. But again, by the looks of things i don't see any sort of PWM control going on with timers and what not. So unless this is handled through PWM pins (which i doubt because its all running through MOSFETS to power the IR LEDs equally) then it is just straight power to the LEDs when needed. I'm pretty sure that as long as the wavelength matches we're good to go without pulsing.

@mfalkvidd, I'm glad it seems that I'm doing everything in theory and method correctly. Shows to myself that i have understood the principles properly. I think I'm correct in assuming/thinking the limitations are as I said in the previous post (post 4), however I would like a discussion regarding those to just confirm them so i know where and what i can do with this method of applying readVcc() to analogRead() to measure a voltage externally from the VCC line of the uC.

Really interesting, maybe I could build something cool around the Arduino HeatpumpIR (https://github.com/ToniA/arduino-heatpumpir) library I've been building. Right now I'm integrating it with Domoticz (http://www.domoticz.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7179#p69647). I'm an ex-Microsoft employee from Finland (resigned about a month ago).

@scalz - Right okay, i think i understand this pretty clearly now on the method to go about enabling interrupt to wake the uC. I have just realized that there is a example sketch that uses sleep function for 2 switches, i can use this and modify it to work for 3 when needed. I shall be studying this sketch along with your links later on tonight hopefully. Once i have sent off my deigns to get my Rev2 remade i will focus my attention to making sure i completely understand the method of this sleep with interrupt function. Thank you for your help guys!

@DavidZH - I really hate our electrical system here, but that is coming from an electronics guy, not a electrician. I like the idea of low voltage in the switches, however its AC. I would prefer to see DC, but the voltage drops might be something that they're attempting to avoid by sending AC instead. Yes, i agree about those damn rings and we also don't have the room here in the UK like you mentioned about the NL.

I now feel like a very big silly idiot. Let this be a lesson to anyone thats developing any sort of project. Document everything in some way, pen and paper or in a file. I had refreshed the sketch and used the same clientID as the raspberrypi was using when i had my old automation server running there.

Finally found the repo for what i think is the raspberry pi MQTT Gateway... Link, I'm assuming the file i need to be looking at is the MyGatewayTransportMQTTClient.cpp. However, there is no MakeFile there, am i being stupid or blind, how would i compile this gateway file to then be able to run it?
